Iumsol is a multimedia education service provider with a vision to provide quality education anywhere in the country without temporal or spatial constraints. It is a leading company in IT education in Korea offering a wide range of services ranging from Iumplay, a smart creativity learning education tool for elementary school students, to Iumsam, a platform for video-based educational content for middle and high school students. More recently, the company began offering the service, IumChina through KINX’s China Direct Connect. This service connects users wishing to learn Chinese with Peking University professors for a one-on-one online lessons.

Iumsol Looked for an Ideal Solution to Provide Stable One-on-One Online Chinese Lessons

Iumsol ran into an obstacle while preparing to launch the real-time online Chinese lesson service with professors from China. This was because it was not possible to provide a seamless video conferencing service experience between the professors in China and the students in Korea using the existing Internet line. It was a situation where they had to find an alternative from the method of using the existing Internet connection, which was slow and suffered frequent disconnections.

Proposed China Direct Connect Service for Fast Data Transmission to and from Major Chinese Cities

In order to solve the issue of being unable to provide seamless online lessons using the existing Internet connection, we proposed China Direct Connect service, which would allow fast data transmission to and from all the major cities in China.
China Direct Connect enables the customer to connect Korea and China through China Telecom’s enterprise-usage-only-dedicated line, CN2, with guaranteed stability and speed. Moreover, there is dedicated personnel at the data center who perform around-the-clock monitoring and provide the technical support necessary in the event of a failure of one of the servers located at KINX IDC.

Providing Seamless Online Chinese Lessons and Cost Reduction

Thanks to KINX’s China Direct Connect, Iumsoll was able to build its video conferencing lesson system under its own brand, Ium China. The challenges created by slow Internet connection were eliminated with the use of China Direct Connect, which helped improve the quality of the online lesson services and prevent high customer turnover rate. Furthermore, it helped lift the burden of hiring and dispatching local personnel as well as security and server operation among other factors and allowed Iumsol to take a step closer to success.
